Be guided through the most important neighborhoods and modern markets of Athens. It is a tour that guarantees the best sightseeing experience of contemporary Athens and a taste indulging.

Athens Walking Guide takes you around places that you can see in Athens only as a local. In this tour we experience how the locals live, spend their time, socialise and eat. We visit the best Athen’s neighborhoods of 1950′s, historic areas of the city, artistic spaces, various stores, coffee bars and more! We walk in the greater area of Syntagma, in the Monastiraki and Plaka area, the Psirri neighborhood and of course the central market of Athens. We have Greek coffee, we taste original Greek products and speak with the locals about their daily problems and worries. Travellers will become fascinated by the revolutionary history, cultural variety of our city and friendly shop-keepers.

We start with a quick tour of a subway museum at Syntagma metro station and the central square of Athens. Also in the most democratic square of contemporary Greece we will take pictures of the Parliament and the National Guards.  Nearby is the Ermou area, the most crowded business street that you might want to do some shopping later! We have to continue together to visit the Monastiraki (Flea Market) and the nearby neighborhood of Psirri to taste greek pastry products (for god’s sake not another “Greek Yogurt”!) and continue our tour towards the modern central market, watching the locals buying meat, fresh fruits and the goodies of mother earth. Of course we are tasting olives in this tour. Then we will walk in Aiolou Street and Athinas Street nearby the Central market, visiting various off the beaten track streets and experiencing the local urban lifestyle.

Do not miss the more authentic fun experience in Athens!
