What payment methods do you accept?
Our primary method of accepted payment is Paypal which transmits your credit card data securely and assures you the highest level of protection. It also enters you seamlessly into the booking calendar so you won't be required to give us any more information. We'll get in touch with you! For special requests, last minute tours, unlisted services, or the non-so-internet-savvy we are happy to process your payment in other ways. You may pay cash also in the end of your tour.
Is the tour child friendly?
Yes because our guides have been trained with certificates at Children and Student Behavior. If you want a true family experience we recommend our Family Athens Tour specifically designed for families. Your kids will love it!
Are the tours and events offered only in English?
Yes, we only offer tours in English at this time. But if you would like to make arrangements for your own interpreter to join the tour, we will host you.
Do the tourist guides accept gratuities?
Gratuities are optional and at your discretion, as all over Europe. However, a gesture of appreciation for good services offered is expected.
Are bathrooms available?
Yes, bathrooms are available throughout our tours and events and we make sure that you feel comfortable during our tours. However, we strongly recommend that you use the facilities before meeting up.
What happens if it rains?
Our tours are on even if it rains! But in Athens sunshine is always on. More than 2756 sunshine hours annually and approximately 7.6 sunlight hours for each day.
Do the tours or events start and end at the same place?
The majority of the tours end within a few blocks of the starting point. In case that they finish on a another spot we will be happy to assist with directions at the end of the tour.
Where do we meet for our tour?
Once you have received your booking confirmation on the final payment page, your meeting points are displayed. This can also be found within the booking confirmation e-mail you receive upon finalizing payment. If you don't receive this, please check your SPAM/Junk mail folders. Our tour coordinators are easily reached and available to you for any questions or concerns. They will be communicating with you directly regarding all tour specific information you may need to make your tour experience with us as enjoyable as possible.
How physically fit do I need to be to enjoy my tour?
Our tours are easy paced but those with walking disabilities are encouraged to book a private tour rather than a group tour to allow Athens Walking Guide to adapt the route to their particular requirements.
If I am bringing an infant/very young child, do I need to purchase a ticket for them?
If you are bringing a child that is 12 years of age or younger, you do not need to purchase a ticket for him/her.
Do you offer discounted tickets for children, students and seniors?
Currently we offer discounted tickets for children 12-18 and students -30% off the price given for adults. Seniors pay as adults.
What is included in the ticket price of Athens Walking Guide Tours?
For all our private tours we offer:
• 1 Bottle of water per person
• The service of a licensed English Tour Guide
Gratuities are not included in the ticket price but are always greatly appreciated.
How big are your Small Group Tours?
Unlike to what most of cruise lines offer, groups of 50 or 60 people traipsing around together with just one guide. We think that sounds like a horror story. So we promise: That will never happen on a walk with us! Our maximum group size is 14; as soon as a 13th person books, we’ll hire a new guide to split the tour in two. Plus, our average group size is 8.
We don’t want to stand in long lines during our tour. Will taking your tours help?
Athens Walking Guide always skips the lines and avoids the crowds.
Which is the cost of the tickets for the archaeological sites?
Full: €20, Reduced: €10. Valid for the archaeological site of the Acropolis and its Slopes. Tickets are available at the ticket office on site or at www.etickets.tap.gr
Special ticket package: Full: €30, Reduced: €15
Valid for 5 days for: Acropolis of Athens, Ancient Agora of Athens, Archaeological Museum of Kerameikos, Archaeological Site of Lykeion, Hadrian's Library, Kerameikos, Museum of the Ancient Agora, North slope of Acropolis, Olympieio, Roman Agora of Athens, South Slope of Acropolis
